How easy is it to clean the base and the tank?

very easy. i use a foam bottle brush for the tank and the base, giving them both a gentle scrub every three days. the power sources disconnects from the base, which makes it easy to move the humidifier. this humidifier also comes with a brush to safely clean the ultra sonic disk. and, if you give the company feedback, they'll send you a free de-calcification filter.

Is this a top fill humidifier?

You have to take the clear body off the base to fill. It is kind of inconvenient. It is also small the size of a football so make sure the room you are using it in is small. I would not have bought it if I saw it in a store.

Optional night light...does that mean you can turn it off, if you don't want light in the bedroom?

How do you turn off the night light. There are answers that say it's possible but no instructions

It's quiet until I hear a dripping sound. I have been emptying it every morning and letting it dry out. This seems to help so far.
