Q: Will this work with a 331 FirePower (hemi) that still runs on a 6v generator

It will not. If you have a dual-point distributor (Autolite IBK, IAZ Series) AND positive ground, you need part number 1383-P6. Their catalog does not list a single-point application, nor one for 6V negative ground.

Q: Is there supposed to be a plate to replace the one the points and condenser were mounted to? This does not fit my 1968 chrysler 318, marine engine.

After you remove your stock points, that plate that they were screwed to remains, that is where you screw the Pertronix ignitor to. If that plate is gone... where were your stock points attached?

Q: Will this work in a 56 dodge poly head V8?

Mark, I'm replying here because evidently I can't on my own question. There is the factory plate but the hold down screws are in the way of fitting these half circle plates in. I can't figure out any position that it'll fit. One thing I did find after some googling and youtube videos is what they're calling a flathead screw to use on the bottom plate is actually supposed to be the countersink screw?

Q: Im wanting to put this in a 1970 mopar 383. Which coil is better a 1.5 or 3.0 Ohm.

It will work with either one, with the matching ballast resistor.
