Q: Can I lock this thermostat where only I can control it from my phone?

Yes you can have it set steady instead of the smart mode for different times.

DO NOT BUY for UK installation - will not work here

I ordered two colours of this item to control my underfloor heating - the official Nest Installer told me on arrival these are *unusable in the UK* as no heating system here uses 12V connections.IMO these should not be offered for sale on Amazon UK as cannot ever be used in the domestic market. Both items refunded by Seller / Amazon without issue despite returning with opened boxes / no cellophane etc, so no complaints there, but don't make my same mistake.

Only way to report this is NOT for use in the UK

For some reason Amazon have started listing these Gen4 Nest Thermostats in the UK.Do NOT buy one in an attempt to install it. They’re not built for how heating systems work in the UK!The UK is only compatible with the Nest Learning Thermostat or a Nest Thermostat-e.Until Google officially release these to the UK you will also likely be unable to set it up as will only work with US and Canada address.If I find a way to notify Amazon about these being advertised here I will let them know they should be taken down.
