Q: The folded up part that they have shrink wrapped together tightly... that is not supposed to be cut open correct?

Yes that is correct. Someone most have already used it and fell with it or pulled it apart. I would return it for a replacement

That would be an absolute NO! But...don’t be a 2 ton Tessy when your using it! Just Sayin’!

No it doesn't....just the lanyard

They are made out of OSHA Standard Chrome Plated Tensile Steel. 7500 lbs load weight. Not aluminum or iron!
