Bought this to replace the IAC on my holley sniper

I had just replaced the battery in my truck. I took the truck out for a test drive. But when I took my foot off the gas, the engine stalled. From that point forward, it would not stay running unless my foot was on the gas. I determined (meaning, I dug through Internet message boards and then guessed) that the idle air control valve was the likely culprit. It looked like this Delphi part was probably closest in build quality to the OEM part from Mopar, so I took the chance. I was not disappointed. Installing it was not as easy as I would have liked (it sits on the back of the throttle body, which I elected not to remove, so I was working entirely by feel), but it's a solid part and the truck runs beautifully once again. I highly recommend this part.

Well after buying this and then receiving it we figured out what the problem was and it was not this. This is a replacement part for the Holly sniper. Come to find out what was causing my odd idling off and on was the rear butterflies were not adjusted correctly.

My 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L would idle rough. While idling it would rev up to 2500 RPM and down, even at stop lights. Swapped it out with the Delphi unit and it automatically noticed the difference. Now my idle is smooth and quiet, RPMs are at 800. Super easy install and the price is more than half the local automotive stores.

Dakota kept dying while idling in the cold. Had to keep it revved a bit before it would finally take and stay running. This fixed it. Don't have to fight with it every morning now.It's not that bad to get to, but cleaning the port while still having the throttle body on is about impossible. You can wipe it best you can but there's not way to really get in there and get it all without removing the throttle body.Works great past couple months. Hopefully never have to replace it.

Looks and works identically to the oem Mopar part. Easy to install, and makes your engine idle smoothly.Make sure you THOROUGHLY clean out the part of the throttle body that this fits into. Lots of carbon buildup, so get it clean before installing this for trouble free operation.
