seems to be good quality and Hoypefly do not appear to be fly-by-nights
I got fed up with rats nests of unreliable 12v cigar lighter connections and started splicing SB50 clones (the genderless Powerpole design is genius) into all my cabling. Genuine Andersons would probably have been better but the cost for a load of them was off-putting. These are the best of the generic SB50s that I have bought, . More substantial contact leaf springs than others, and, critically, the correct length - others have thin, slightly short leaf springs so that the assembled plugs don't always lock. The crimping force on the terminal inserts also seems to be a bit higher than on other generics, too, so maybe they are made from a better base material.Note also these housings have a hexagonal recess for handle/flush mount attachment nut which other clones lack.Ordered these twice, a year and a half apart, and identical items delivered so seems to be a stable supply chain.

Fantastic value
Working just as good as the Anderson branded ones that cost a lot more. Buy again , yes

Solid connectors, firm click connection
I generally stick to genuine Andersons, but they do cost a lot. I bought these, reading one of the longer reviews, which said that they were decent base material and strong click action. I can confirm - the contacts lock into the housing with a firm leaf spring and catch (like Anderson connectors) and the action of connecting two connectors is nice, firm, solid. One of the other reviews talks about having to do a serious amount of solder. You shouldn't be soldering cable into these - you should firstly be making sure you use the correct gauge of cable (I'll update this review once I've double-checked). Secondly you should use a crimping tool to crimp the connectors onto the cable. Soldering weakens wire strands, and for this sort of task, particularly if in a moving vehicle, should be avoided.Other point of note - as one other reviewer points out, the size of the connectors is as per the text specification, and NOT as per the photo - and the photo is also incorrect about the current specification. The photo states 175A but these connectors are 50AUpdate - 16mm2 (6 AWG) cable just about squeezes into the connectors and this can then be crimped down to a really nice solid connection.

Just fine
There are loads of crap SB50 connectors out there. These were fine. Went together okay. No problems pulling 50amps but I only do that for a minute or two.

Easy to assemble, quick to connect and disconnect.
They do exactly what they are supposed to do. Very happy.
