Q: How long are the fish sticks? My arowana is 18" long,

The sticks are about 1/2 inch...may want to try finding bigger food. My 12inch arowana loved them though

Hello,The general rule of thumb in how to feed is 2-3X a day and only as much as your fish will eat in about 3-4 minutes.If you are changing foods your arrowana may balk at first so start slow with just a couple of sticks to make sure he will eat it and keep trying until he takes to it.Then apply the 3-4 minute rule.I can not say this enough times....people have a tendency to overfeed their fish.When you overfeed not only does your fish produce more ammonia which will eventually become nitrate but the food that goes uneaten winds up in your gravel and becomes nitrate too.Not to mention turning your substrate into a cesspool.

Q: Would this be good for a 6/7 inch bala 'shark'?

It's been a while since I've had a bala shark. These would probably be fine, though I believe I'd rotate this with other foods to be sure there's nutritional variety.

Hello Richard,This is a floating stick designed for top feeding carnivores.However as with all floating food eventually it will absorb water and sink.
