UPDATE 1/30/23 - Unit is STILL running. Installed in an extremely damp basement and it goes and goes. Have since installed a sump in the basement and the tube goes right into the sump making a much cleaning look. Definitely worth the money.UPDATE 11/28/16 - Control board went on the unit. Called support and they picked up immediately. Within 2 days a new control board was sent to my house which was very easy to install myself. Unit is back up and running. Very impressed with their customer service. Two weeks in and the unit works great. Have an antique home with a damp and wet-at-times basement. Cleared up my humidity much better than the $250 LG I had. Built in pump works great. Built like a tank. Simple operation. Got a humidity control for it, specifically the Dayton 1UHG3 Humidifier Control, Plug In, 120 V here on Amazon. It's another 70 bucks but avoids having the unit on all the time being this unit does not have a humidity control, it just stays on all the time. Note that for me, the power plug from the unit didn't fit into the Dayton humidistat. So I got a beefy short extension cord from Home Depot, the Rigid 2 ft contractor grade 12 gauge outlet, and it works great. Have the tube going out a basement window about 10 feet away going up about 7 feet. Not a problem at all. So far I feel the extra money spent is well worth it. The cheaper unit was fantastic, hung in there for a few years, but never gave me the confidence that it would work long term (even though it did) and the bucket/hose combination caused problems. Cheaper units with a hose tend to not work reliability as well from what I hear so I bit the bullet and got this unit. Time will tell if it was worth it but so far it's flawless.

Maybe there is a much cheaper choice!
After going through three throw away dehumidifiers and their failures I decided to buy a commercial one; the DRI-EAZ DrizAir 1200 on 1/28/2017 for $1,585.24, almost eight times the cost of my old one! This week ,8/17/2018 the unit stopped working. After speaking to to local distributor {200 miles round trip} I had to bring it in and there could be a 4 week wait for repair at $89.00 an hour labor. Looking at other reviews indicated repair bills of $700-800 dollars. Yikes!! Decided to diagnose the problem myself and found a melted compressor wire to the control panel relay caused by a loose poorly installed Sta-gon{connector}. Ordered a new panel from the distributor for $182, changed out the old one{and the connector} and turned it on. Works perfectly! Called DRIEAZ in Burlington, WA and complained with the hope they would cover the cost of the panel. Nothing doing. 12 Month warranty. This unit is simply used to keep my train collection dry, no commercial application at all. At this point the purchase of another throw away would have been a better choice! You decide after reading this.UPDATE: May 2020. The unit no longer functions as all of the gas leaked out. Once again, a 200 mile round trip to the dealer to get it repaired and another trip to pick it up in addition to a $300 repair bill. Weigh your options before getting involved with this!!!!

Great little machine that does the job well.
This little unit works great. It filled a 45 gal trash can half full overnight. The built in condensation pump works beautifully. The drain hose raps nicely on the back of the unit and a heavy extension cord wraps on the top for storage. Besides being visually appealing it has some great features like the large diameter wheels. The easy grasp pull handle. Long heavy duty extension cord. Built in cond. pump. Easy read control panel on top that keeps track of the number of hours it has ran. Multiple operating modes makes this a versatile machine for a relatively low price for a commercial unit. We had to buy a second one we like it so much.

Didn't work as described
Didn't work as described. It never got rid of my humidity problems and musty smells. I ran it for a while to give it a chance but it didn't work like it should.

This thing is a BEAST! :)
We've had problems with with flooding and mold in our house. At one point, I had to hire a remediation service to come in tear down all the moldy walls and dry out our basement ... at a significant cost. When I put the walls back up, I used green board this time for its resistance to mold ... and I added this baby to my wish list. After another flooding, I decided it was time to crack open the dusty wallet and get this. This sucker is built like a tank. It's heavy as hell, but because of the way they attach the handle and the type of wheels, it's surprisingly easy to move around. Just don't ask me to bench-press it.Operation is simple ... perhaps too simple. It has two main buttons: one that turns the dehumidification on and off, and another that flushes the condensed moisture from the coils and out of the machine. Both buttons do what they promise. The only thing I would have preferred was for it to have a built in moisture sensor and then program it to operate when the humidity reaches a certain level or higher. Oh well. That said, this thing works great. Some small pools of standing water evaporated in a couple of days (I could have mopped them up with a towel, but I was curious to see how quickly dehumidification would work). However, more importantly, the air in our basement just felt dryer,. I never realized how damp our basement normally was until I had run this thing for a few days.Operation is about as noisy as an air conditioner, which makes sense, since it's essentially the same technology. It comes with plenty long tubing for your needs, in case you want to put this thing far from a drain. Of course, you could just buy more tubing of the appropriate size at your home improvement store or even here on Amazon. I plan to do that so that I can save the long tubing for a (ahem) rainy day and use a shorter length, which would be more suitable for my current needs. For the amount of money this thing costs, I keep feeling like it should do ... I dunno, more of something. Play a movie, or roll around on its own, or at least have more buttons. But no, the design is rational: it does one thing, it does it simply, and it does it well. Maybe not the sexiest gadget in the world, but there's something to be said for just doing its job flawlessly. :)
