This is our favorite way to put sunscreen on for the whole family! These replacements are fabulous as we were out the sponge while the rest of the bottle is fine.

tldr: Buy the applicator. Don't buy the replacement heads.Okay. First off: We love our Solar Buddy. It makes the whole sunblock application process painless. Almost fun. Definitely tolerable. That said, there is something wrong with these replacement heads. I bought this 2-pack and found that my old cap does not fit (the cap won't click onto the new head).So I bought a new applicator instead. Not a huge deal, but I did like the idea of limiting plastic waste.Also, before I returned the heads I confirmed that the New cap also doesn't click shut on these replacement heads.So yeah, it's the new heads, not the applicator.

I want to start this review by saying I love my Solar Buddy. It’s paining me to give this a bad review because of something so trivial but impacts one of the features of the Solar Buddy. Last year, when I ordered the replacement sponges, it came with the replacement sponges and two caps. This spring (2025) I bought them again, knowing full well the description says it no longer comes with replacement caps (which is fine, I saved my caps from prior orders). The replacements came in and I went to change them out and the caps no longer fit. Without a sealing cap, sunscreen will just get all over everything. I honestly didn’t mind spending the extra two dollars from last year with less product; however it really stinks that the cap is no longer compatible with the replacement sponges.I did reach out to the company, and they are addressing the issue. I bumped my rating up because their customer service not only is timely but they are respectful and are willing to work through issues. So the not fitting cap gets a two star but the company as whole gets five stars so a four star overall seems fair.

Love this method of putting on sunscreen on toddlers and young children that hate doing anything related to staying clean. Alway keep a few extra on hand as they wear out over time.

I bought replacement heads for my solar buddie I got last year since it was starting to deteriorate. I just purchased this in April and one of the sponge head is come apart at the base. I don’t know if this one is just defective or what but I’m not pleased. Still I find this product a game changer for my kids who hate sunscreen.

We love solar buddies! Replace our sponge end annually and keep refilling and reusing. Everyone prefers this for our liquid screen, even the adults!

I should have read the review before buying. These shouldn’t even be sold because they aren’t true replacements. The original cap does not fit so these are useless because you can’t pack to travel with the replacement and that’s now how the original project is advertised.
