Q: Can I use it on my gas stove or do I have to buy a portable gas stove?

I do not recommend it to be used on gas stove because of the way drain hall is designed will not fit with regular gas stove. It would work best with portable gas stove and heat resistant drain bowl. :)

Q: how long does the teflon coating last?

I am really not sure but I used more 3 times. I only cleaned it with soft sponge and when it's still hot . The grill still looks as new not like others I bought got scratched after first used . The most of all this product is very easy to clean .
