The mount is only designed to mount the Sonos Beam to the wall - You should not use it to mount a Sonos Beam to the ceiling.

Yes, this wall mount works with the Sonos Beam Gen 2 and Gen 1.

Q: will this work with 24" studs?

Considering it’s about 16” long...I don’t see how it would possibly reach 24”. Your best soloution would be to get a 1x4 26”...I suggest get a nice smooth sanded one to save time and effort/tools. Then attach that to your wall to reach the studs. Paint it to match the wall. Then attach the speaker to that. This is how I mounted both my TV’s on the wall.
