I do love this very handy and save making a mess, when coating chicken and other foods.If you think out side the box you could use any box with a lid, but the insert does help the coating.only down side it costs far to much for what it is. that said I do love it.

We use this product for frying fish and making onion blossoms. The strainer part works great!Only thing I did not like was the onion blossom maker is a bit small but otherwise great!!!!

I don't usually get so excited I write a review before using a product. I was so excited to get this, I wanted to do this review right now. The product is well made. I ordered both this one and the Better Breader that is longer and flatter. Being able to make blooming onions was a bonus.Normally when I fry chicken tenders or fish or shrimp, the mess is just so very much to deal with. I coat first in egg wash then go to dry seasoned flour or flour/cornmeal mix. This one can hold the egg and the other one can hold the flour and I am down to two dishes. You don't want to know how many I usually use but for fun, here goes:First I crack the eggs in a coffee cup and mix them up, then I pour them over the meat in a large bowl, then I get to use my hands to make sure everything gets coated, then there is another Tupperware container I have mixed my flour cornmeal and seasoning in, I drop them into that in small batches and shake them. Then they get stacked on a plate as they wait their turn for the frier. If they sit too long, its back to the flour mix, shake shake shake. Wash hands 50 times, somehow have flour everywhere.Since I have used everything from Walmart bags, paper bags, ziplock bags before settling on the Tupperware container as best, I feel confident about this product actually being better than that. I love the way it is designed, you are easily able to hold it together for security as you shake and the lids are nice and tight. My battered projects are even more of a pain so I don't often make those Sweet and Sour Golden Spears my daughter loves. Even if I never learn to make a blooming onion, she will be cooking her favorite Chinese dish quite often with this. So get it, in fact, its best to have them both.If I use it and find I was wrong about it, I'll update this. However, I must warn you, this is a simple cleverly designed product and there is very little I could be wrong about. I know better than to melt in on the bottom rack of the dishwasher. I really really love these products!

This is really great to use. It sure was nice not having a mess on the counter or a mess with my hands with breading chicken strips. Easy to use and clean up is great. The lid has a firm seal so no breading gets out. I do recommend this product. The blooming onion maker I haven't used yet.
