Sizes don't match
The socket is the correct 5.5mm, 2.5mm but the supplied jack is 5.5mm, 2mm. This 0.5mm internal diameter difference meant the barrel jack won't fit over the internal pin of the socket.

The nut is too big for the thread, so there is no way to fix/secure the socket...
