Why am i not able to open my schrade 223 ot the sum button will not open the blade is there anyway i can loosen it up

I had the same problem with mine. No there is not a way to loosen it up yourself. Old Timer replaced it with a new one and it was a little bit easier but still not comfortable. I finally replaced it with the 1230T Old Timer that has the nail indention on the blade. It is the same knife without the thumb assist stud. I love these knifes and it serves me well. I guess it is luck to get one that opens easy. Not sure if your amazon warranty is still in affect but Old Timer replaced mine even after the warranty was expired.

Will the clip come loose because there isn't room to put it on a belt?
