Great motorcycle mittens! Surprising features!
First, I want to say that I did not receive a free pair of these cold weather mittens, nor did I receive any kind of compensation for this review. I was simply buying a pair for use in my winter motorcycle riding and was looking for a pair of mittens for below freezing weather that would give my hands the protection I need at a reasonable price. How surprised I was to find features that I did not notice until I received the mittens. Not only that, I was informed by Amazon that the mittens that I ordered on late Thursday, December the 13th that they would arrive on Sunday, December the 16th. They actually arrived a day earlier on Saturday, December the 15th. Way to go Amazon Prime! Love it! I am surprised that these mittens are not advertised for motorcycle use as they seem to be so well suited to cold weather riding. So, on to the features I like about these affordable mittens especially as how they apply to winter motorcycle riding:Please note that the fourth Amazon picture shows a young man using his cell phone (texting?) with the mitts dangling from his wrists. I see this as a real boon to the motorcycle rider. I can’t tell you how many times I have had to slip a glove under my thigh in order to secure it after removal. I never lost a glove doing this, but it would be very easy to do so. This is especially important with mittens since removing one quickly to access a small button or control is even more likely than with gloves. Having this elastic strap around one’s wrist would assure that the mitt is not lost when it need to be removed for access. What a simple, but ultimately useful touch. Congratulations Tough Outdoors for such an insightful design feature. The next thing I really like is the handy cuff drawstring. It is designed to be easily secured around the riding jacket or coat sleeve by simply pulling on the string with the other hand due to a unique arrangement shown in picture six. Observe the arrangement on the right side of the mitts in the picture. You will see that the drawstring retaining button is secured to the mitt with a strong nylon loop sewn into the mitt. This arrangement allows the string to be pulled tight easily with the opposite hand. Neat!Be aware that these mitts do run small as mentioned in other reviews. I normally order XL gloves or mittens. I do have large hands, but not excessively large. If my hands were any larger, these mitts would not fit. As it is, these mitts fit snugly, but not so much so that they are uncomfortable or would lose insulating effectiveness. My hand measures 9.5” according to the chart illustration (picture #7) for taking a measurement. According to the chart, the XL size covers a hand size of 8.9 to 9.3 inches. I would say that this is quite accurate. So, if you have a hand larger than 9.5”, I would recommend looking for a larger mitten.I have not had the opportunity to ride using the mittens in below freezing temps yet. Neither have I had the occasion to ride in wet conditions. So I cannot comment on their effectiveness in such conditions. But I’m sure I will be able to observe their performance under those conditions before long and will add to this review when I do. The construction of these mittens appears to be very good and I do not anticipate any problems. I will let you know. Having just received them, I am initially very impressed and I hope not to be disappointed. I don't think I will be.

Great but a bit big
I’ve tested a lot of winter gloves and mittens over the years, and these Tough Outdoors mittens are among the best when it comes to keeping your hands warm in extreme cold. Whether I’m on the mountain skiing, snowboarding, or just out in freezing temperatures, these mittens have never let me down. They’re well-insulated, with the SummitLoft insulation truly living up to its promise of warmth. Even in below-freezing temperatures with strong winds and heavy snowfall, my hands stay toasty and comfortable. One of the biggest perks of these mittens is their waterproofing. I’ve worn them in wet snow for hours, and my hands stayed completely dry. The outer shell repels moisture really well, and the inner lining feels soft and cozy. They also have a great wrist strap that helps keep them secure, and the adjustable cinch ensures no snow sneaks in.That said, these do run a little big. If you prefer a snug fit or are between sizes, I’d recommend sizing down. However, the extra room isn’t necessarily a bad thing, especially if you like to wear glove liners underneath for even more warmth.Overall, these mittens are an excellent choice for anyone who needs serious cold-weather protection. Whether you’re hitting the slopes, shoveling snow, or just braving a frigid winter night, these will keep your hands warm and dry. Highly recommend!

Tough outdoor winter ski mittens for men
These are well-made and warm, but I returned them because the size chart is not accurate. They are smaller than they should be for the size it is. So if you are going to purchase them, make sure you get one or two sizes larger.

Very warm, soft, comfortable.
First let me say there is a big difference between the M3 &M4 models. I had a pair of M3 size medium And I ordered a paid for my wife and received the M4 and they were considerably larger and longer cuff then the M3. My hand measures about 8.2 my wife about 7.5 and the medium-large felt slightly large for her but wasn’t so large that it was out of the question. So I ordered her the X-small/small and they fit her perfectly. I could actually wear them being a size 8.2 but they were a little snug so the medium/large is perfect. Mind you the M4 was much larger even for me so I ended up returning theM4 not sure if it was a ordering mistake or they sent the wrong ones but there is a difference. So 8.2 then medium fits great with some room. They r snug for a x small/small7.5 a x small/small perfect but could wear the medium/largeOk now on the mittens. Me and my wife we walk every day in all temps and we have tried different gloves that guaranteed protection down to zero or even below and both our hands were constantly cold so knowing mittens are a better protection keeping the hands and fingers warmer we switched and we wouldn’t go back. These mittens have nice elastic bands so if you want to take them off they can be attached to your wrists so you don’t need to hold them. I will say around 30 deg my hands begin to sweat just enough that I take them off and let them dangle as I walk. My wife’s hands were warm but not sweating. Now we have walked in temps in the low teens with pain high wind gusts and both our hands were toasty warm. My wife does say after a while in the coldest temp her thumb starts to feel colder then her fingers. I don’t have that issue. They protect your hands from cold and wind perfectly. If you like a longer gauntlet mitten select the M4 as they are several inches longer. For us it created difficulty going over out coat sleeves and going under even harder. The M3 are perfect. I do open the snaps on the ends of my coat sleeve and it slides over them easily.I have worn these snowblowing in the coldest of temps. Winds below zero and they stayed warm for the hour I was outside. Since we both have the same mittens mine a size larger I took some Marker paint and colored the small logo on each mitten a different color so we can easily tell who’s is who. For the price these are what they are they do what they are supposed to do in the coldest of weather. I was not paid for my review, no discount just an honest review of a product that lives up to the hype.
